Zimmer® DTO™ Implant

Different stages of spinal degeneration require a different solution.

Zimmer Spine integrates two leading systems to offer a segmental solution that treats varying stages of disc degeneration in the lumbar spine.

Since spine degeneration is a continuous process that often affects adjacent segments at different rates, (Reference 1) a treatment option that can cover the entire range of lumbar spine degenerative pathologies could enhance a patient’s activity level and overall quality of life. This solution is integrated into the Zimmer DTO Implant.

The Zimmer DTO Implant combines the Dynesys ® Dynamic Stabilisation System with the rigid stabilisation of the OPTIMA™ ZS Spinal System (Reference 2) to offer a new segmental solution for treating degenerative lumbar spine pathologies with different stages of degeneration at contiguous levels.

This new technology solution helps avoid over- or under-treatment by providing surgeons with a way to neutralise and prevent segmental disstability.

The Zimmer DTO implant’s leading-edge technology gives surgeons greater flexibility to provide a more precise stabilisation effect.

Advantages of customised stabilisation

  • Real transition from a proven dynamic system to a rigid system
  • Varying stiffnesses of the systems
  • Familiar posterior approach
  • Versatility
  • Reproducibility
  • Preservation of the anatomy
