Indications
The Universal Clamp is intended for spinal reconstructive surgery, incorporated into constructs for the purpose of correcting spinal deformities such as kyphosis, scoliosis (including idiopathic, congenital, neuromuscular and degenerative scoliosis) and other deformities.
In extreme cases (i.e., obesity and/or excessive kyphosis and/or muscular
weakness) the construct extremities can be reinforced by using several
Universal Clamps or by adding pedicle-lamina clamps.

Contra indications
- Local or general infections that may jeopardize the outcome of the operation
- Major local inflammations
- Pregnancy
- Immuno-depressive conditions
- Bone immaturity
- Severe mental illness
- Bone metabolism disorders that undermine the mechanical support to be expected from this type of implant
- Excessive physical activity
These contraindications may be relative or absolute and must be taken into account by the practitioner during the decision-making process. This list is not exhaustive.
